A small drag lift just above our studio
connects you to the main Combloux chairlifts and ski
school area. Our studio is ideally located for direct
access onto the main pistes and return doorstep skiing
is possible during winter months.
Combloux is an ideal family skiing
location, where all levels and abilities of skiers/snowboarders
are catered for admirably. Combloux has many advantages
over many of the major ski resorts in that it is able
to offer cheaper lift passes, uncrowded pistes with
panoramic views, traditional savoyarde restaurants,
and virtually no lift queues to name but a few.
In addition to the above, there is
an excellent ski school with some 75 instructors waiting
to give you some personal advice and guidance on improving
your snowsport technique.(many of these speak excellent
English)... And for the more adventurous, there are
4 guides for high mountain excursions. The ski school
also offers creche facilities for the 3 - 6 year olds
- which allows adults time to ski independently of
their off-spring.
Nearby Ski Resorts
We recommend bringing your own car
or hiring one upon arrival, as this opens up accessability
to other major ski resorts in the local area:-
Megeve (5 minutes by car), Prz-sur-Arly
(10 mins), Les Contamines (25 mins), Chamonix (30
mins), Argentierre (45 mins), Flaine (50 mins), Les
Houches (25 mins) and Passy 30 mins).
If however, you decide
not to hire or bring your own car, then a local ski
bus will take you to some of the nearby resorts for
a small charge) Details obtained from the village
Tourist Office.

Other Winter Attractions
Of course you do not necessarily have
to be a skier/snowboarder to enjoy this wonderful
region. The towns and villages all have their own
individual charm and character. Megeve for example
(5 mins) is full of designer shops, where hours can
be spent just meandoring through the cobbled streets
or relax in one of the many fashionable bars and restaurants
- the choice is yours. There is an outdoor skating
rink which is open to the general public or you may
be fortunate to see an ice hockey match in progress.
A little further along the valley
is Chamonix, where you can experience all the excitement
of an International Ski Resort. Lots to do for everyone
here. (see local tourist office for attractions on
offer).
Sallanches is a traditional market
town, where all reasonably priced goods can be purchased,
especially on market day.
Trips and outings are organised weekly
from many of the nearby villages and towns - see local
tourist office for further information.
If skiing does not appeal to you, then why not try
hiring a pair of snow shoes and explore for yourself
one of the many beautiful walks available around this
very picturesque region.
